Burman can provide you with back-up, experience and specialist knowledge to assist in all phases of production logistics. Policy analysis and advice is available on manufacturing strategies and co-ordination of multinational operations. For the incoming supply chain we have specialists in outsourcing (including knowledge of when it is inappropriate), designing supply chains for effective service, negotiating mutually advantageous supply contracts, vendor managed inventory, minimising work-in-progress and lead time reduction. In-plant we can provide assistance with plant layout, production planning and scheduling, responsiveness, quality assurance and productive maintenance. Experienced Burman consultants will work with internal teams to resolve many areas of staff overload or special projects. Benchmarking is very useful in improving Manufacturing performance and Burman will assist companies with the self assessment process of the Institute of Mechanical Engineers, or will start de novo and locate suitable benchmarking partners for particular processes. |
